Women’s Issues in Today’s Modern World
We are living in an era of equality and emancipation, but there are still untouched women issues that just don’t seem to be solvable no matter how hard we tried. These issues can only be solved when women unite and pursue the same goal.
Take salaries for example. According to a survey conducted in the United States, women earn 78 cents for every dollar men earn; doing the exact same job, women actually earn less than men. Even when you are showing your best performances, it is still very difficult for women to earn as much as men on the same level.
Let’s take a look at the bigger picture here. Women CEOs are listed as among the best in the world. Still, they are earning no more than 40% of what Men CEOs are earning even with worse corporate performance. With inequality going as high as the top-management, it is obvious that the only way to change the situation is by working together.
There are countries that take giving women their rightful rights – equal rights that are also enjoyed by men – seriously. These countries are usually developing countries such as Malaysia or Indonesia. In modern countries such as United States or even the United Kingdom, the process is so much slower.
It is up to us to speed up the change and fight for our rights. Start by doing something small, supporting other women, or by paying closer attention to your environment. You will be surprised to see just how much change a small act can bring.
